Strong Woman Do Bong-soon (힘쎈여자 도봉순): Plot, Characters and Cast

Bong-soon was born with superhuman strength, a family gift inherited by its women. She tries not to use it, because she dreams of being seen as delicate, but she never hesitates when someone needs help. Sweet on the outside and unbreakable within, she is a heroine who hasn't accepted the title yet.

If Bong-soon had a Saju card, it would be Yang Metal · The Sword: raw power with a strong sense of justice, forged to protect. A sword kept in a velvet case is still a sword. Her lesson is to draw it with pride instead of hiding it.

Min-hyuk is the young heir and CEO of the game company Ainsoft. He is playful, flirty and endlessly teasing, especially with his new bodyguard. Behind that cheeky attitude he hides old wounds and a fair amount of loneliness, and Bong-soon is the first person in a long time who makes him lower his guard.

If Min-hyuk had a Saju card, it would be Yang Water · The Ocean: sparkling and playful on the surface, with deep currents nobody sees from the shore. The waves come and go with jokes, but the depths keep everything he never says out loud.

Guk-doo is Bong-soon's childhood friend and a rookie detective passionate about justice. He is upright, serious and a little oblivious to what is right in front of him. When the kidnappings begin, he throws himself into the investigation, and his path keeps crossing Bong-soon's.

If Guk-doo had a Saju card, it would be Yang Wood · The Great Tree: straight, stubborn and firmly rooted in his principles. He grows upward without looking sideways, which makes him reliable, though sometimes he misses the flowers blooming at his feet.

Hwang Jin-yi is Bong-soon's mother and the one who passed down the family strength. Loud, impulsive and afraid of nothing, she runs her household at full volume and has her own ideas about how her daughter should live. Under all the noise, she loves her children fiercely.

If Jin-yi had a Saju card, it would be Yang Fire · The Sun at full blast: impossible to ignore, warm and at times a bit too hot. Wherever she goes, the temperature rises. In Saju, that much fire only needs a little water nearby to keep the home cozy.

Kim Jang-hyun is the criminal behind the kidnappings that terrify Bong-soon's neighborhood. Cold and elusive, he turns the investigation into a tense game of cat and mouse. He is the darkest thread in a comedy that is otherwise full of light.

If Jang-hyun had a Saju card, it would be Yin Water · The Rain turned into a cold fog: silent, hard to trace and lurking in the alleys. In Saju, water without banks loses its way; his story shows what happens when nothing stops that chill.
