New K-Dramas Coming Soon: Summer Vacation, Dead-End Job and The Perfect Lie

Published: 2026-10-19

October ends with three very different Korean shows. A dreamy teen romance set in a country village, a Netflix horror series about a part-time job that pays far too well, and a psychological thriller that reunites two Dr. Romantic stars. Here are the dates, the cast, the story setup without spoilers and, where confirmed, the platform to watch from abroad.

Summer Vacation (여름방학) – Wavve and Lifetime, from October 26

Kim Ha Yeon (Cho Yi Hyun) is an ordinary 18-year-old who secretly hopes for a dramatic destiny. When her father goes on a work trip to Upo, a quiet rural village, she tags along for the summer break. There she meets Jo Yu Gyeom (B1A4's Jin Young), the landowner's son and eldest grandson of the village's head family. The tagline promises an ordinary summer at 18 and an unbelievably mysterious story, so expect a little magic in this teen romance. Hong Ye Ji plays Sung Sae Ryung, Yu Gyeom's girlfriend, which sets up a love triangle. Song Ji Won directs and Han Ga Ram, who wrote When the Weather Is Fine, wrote the script. In Korea it is a Wavve Only title and also airs on the Lifetime channel; Soompi lists Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:50 p.m. KST and links a Viki page.

Dead-End Job (꿀알바) – Netflix, October 30

Just in time for Halloween, Netflix brings a horror story about the worst kind of side hustle. Byeon Hyeok Jun (Lee Jae Wook) is buried in debt when he finds a flyer for a part-time job. It leads him to a staffing agency that pays 50 times the minimum wage and has a single rule: never tell anyone what happens at work. His first post is a convenience store, and it quickly becomes clear that every shift could be his last. Each finished job raises his pay, and also the danger. Go Min Si, Kim Min Ha and Lee Hee Joon, as the agency boss, complete the main cast. Kim Da Min directs, and Han Jun Hee, known for D.P., leads the creative side. All eight episodes drop at once worldwide.

The Perfect Lie (라이어) – MBC, from October 30

Here is one for thriller fans. Min Joon Ho (Yoo Yeon Seok) is a cardiac surgeon and a widowed single father, a perfectionist in the operating room with a playful side at home, and someone everyone trusts. Kang Ji Sun (Seo Hyun Jin) works as an elementary school librarian and teacher and has a quiet, careful way of reading people. Their first date goes well. Later, the two give completely opposite versions of the same memory, and the posters ask a simple question: who is lying? MBC calls it a psychological thriller. Jo Young Min, director of You and Everything Else, is behind the camera, with a script by Baek Jae Young. It airs Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m. KST. It also reunites the two leads, who first worked together in Dr. Romantic.

Quick guide: where and when to watch

Mark your calendar. Summer Vacation starts Monday, October 26: Wavve in Korea, and Soompi points international viewers to Viki, though availability can vary by country. Dead-End Job is the easiest to find from the Americas, because Netflix releases all eight episodes worldwide on Friday, October 30. The Perfect Lie begins the same night on MBC; no international streaming partner had been announced in the sources we checked, so look again closer to the date. And if you want something right now, Love in Disguise, which we previewed earlier this month, premieres today on tvN, Monday, October 19. Platforms sometimes change plans, so always check your app first.
