Dreaming of trees: meaning in Korea
In Korean tradition, a tree in a dream is growth and roots: a big green tree announces prosperity and protection.
What they say in Korea 나무꿈
Many Korean villages still have a great guardian tree, the dangsan namu (당산나무), often a centuries-old zelkova, where neighbors rest and make wishes. In kkumhaemong, dreaming of a big, leafy tree is said to announce growth, prosperity and the protection of an influential person. Climbing a tree is read as a promotion. A tree heavy with fruit is read as harvest and achievement. Planting a tree announces a project that will grow over the years. If the tree grows inside your house, the reading is especially favorable: family prosperity. A dry or fallen tree is read as something asking for renewal and patience.
Depending on the details
if you see a huge green tree
Prosperity, protection and stability. It may announce support from someone influential, or a season of solid growth in your personal or working life.
if you climb a tree
A rise and a better view. You get higher through your own effort and can see more clearly what the next step on your path is.
if the tree is dry
Something needs water and care: a project, a relationship or your own energy. Time to nourish your roots, rest and wait for the next spring.
And luck?
After dreaming of a tree, a Korean might plant a small pot or take a walk through a leafy park.
In other traditions
In the West trees in dreams are tied to personal growth, family roots, life and stability. A dry tree can reflect exhaustion, and a leafy one fullness and strength.
