Seven of Cups
Keywords: options, fantasy, illusion, choice
A figure with their back to us gazes at seven cups floating in the clouds, each holding something different: a castle, jewels, a wreath, a snake, a dragon, a veiled figure and a head. They are dreams and temptations. The Seven of Cups speaks of many options, runaway imagination and the difficulty of choosing. Not everything that glitters is real. Dream freely, but then come back down to earth: examine each cup and choose the one you can truly sustain.
Reversed
Reversed, the Seven of Cups shows the fog clearing: you see clearly which option is real and which was fantasy. It can also mean you feel you have so many options that you can’t decide. Narrow the list to two and compare them calmly. Choosing one door is better than staring at seven forever.
Love
In love there may be confusion, idealization or several options at once. Ask yourself whether you’re in love with the person or with your idea of them. Getting to know each other slowly will help separate desire from reality.
Work
At work it shows lots of ideas or offers and little focus. There may be proposals that sound too good to be true. Do your research before committing and prioritize what’s realistic. One good idea carried out is worth more than seven dreamed up.
Advice
Write down all your options and cross out the ones that only exist in your imagination. From those left, choose the one that gives you peace.

- 水 Water
This Seven is Water (水) in the form of fog. In saju, a lot of Water without banks scatters into dreams. Earth (土剋水) is its container: a plan, a date and a budget turn fantasy into a path.
